Full council record

Purpose

Report seeking approval to enter into a Grant
Funding Agreement and Nominations Agreement to fund the delivery of
additional homes for homeless families as part of the Local
Authority Housing Fund programme.

Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:
1)
Award a grant for the sum of £126,000 to Cobalt Housing
Limited for the purpose of providing six properties to accommodate
homeless households under Round 3 of the Local Authority Housing
Fund via a Grant Funding Agreement (GFA).
2)
Enter into a Nominations Agreement between the Council and Cobalt
Housing Limited for the purpose of nominating individuals and
households considered as eligible cohort to the properties made
available using funding from LAHF R3.
3)
Enter into a Data Sharing Agreement relating to the above.

Alternative options considered

In relation to the GFA, not allocating the
LAHF R3 grant to the Recipient would risk missing the opportunity
to provide six three-bedroom homes to eligible cohorts and may
place further financial burden on the Council who would need to
find alternative solutions.

In relation to the Nominations Agreement, not
entering into a Nominations Agreement would put the Council at risk
of being unable to house individuals and households in need of
accommodation. This may also lead to a breach of the terms and
conditions of the MOU with MHCLG.
