Purpose

DAR to authorise procurement of a Alcohol /
Non Alcohol provider for City Halls Hospitality events

Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Housing has decided to:
1)   
Commence a competitive tender exercise for the appointment of an
alcohol and non-alcohol / soft beverage supplier / provider for a
period of 3 (three) years with the option to extend for 1 (one) year at an
estimated value of £0.32m.
 

Alternative options considered

Option 1: Do nothing
This would result in the
Council operating without a formal agreement, which could breach
procurement regulations. Also, cultural events, and hospitality
functions may face delays or cancellations due to lack of supply,
impacting the city’s event programmes. Without a competitive
tender, the Council may miss opportunities for better pricing and
value for money, leading to higher costs.
 
Option 2: Continue with
Current Supplier
This option has been discounted
as the current contract ends on 25th February 2026 and
there is no option to extend it.
