Full council record
Purpose
Trial with Scottish Power and Otaski to test
viability of V2G EV Charging
Decision
For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:
1)
Enter into a collaborative arrangement with Otaski Energy Solutions
Limited (“Otaski”), whereby the Council will
assist Otaski with the identification of sites and other areas
appropriate for the installation of EV chargers across the City, as
part of a trial with Scottish Power Energy Networks
(“SPEN”) to trial Vehicle to Grid
(“V2G”) charging, for an initial period of up to
10 years.
Alternative options considered
Do Nothing this option was discounted
as the Council has a target to install 2,000 additional chargers by
May 2027 and this trial allows the Council to be part of technology
developments in EV charging and install additional chargers at no
cost to the Council.
