Purpose

Local authority to passport DFE school based nurseries capital funding to Everton Nursery School and Family Centre.

Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the Corporate Director for Children’s and Young People’s Services has decided to:

1)    Note the successful grant award of £134,600 to Everton Nursery School and Family Centre.

2)    Approve arrangements for Liverpool City Council to passport the funding to the school.

3)    Ensure appropriate financial monitoring and governance arrangements are in place.

Alternative options considered

The alternative option is to refrain from releasing the grant funding which would be a breach of the terms of the grant accepted from the government and the Council’s statutory duty. This would also be a risk to the Council’s ability to meet sufficiency needs.
