Full council record

Purpose

This report records the decisiosn to enter into a Deed of Variation to a LAHF funding agreement to deliver two additional homes for homelessness purposes at an additional cost of £170,000. This will increase the allocation to £340,000 and increase delivery from two units to four.

Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the Corporate Director has decided to:

1)    Enter into a Deed of Variation to the original Grant Funding Agreement between Liverpool City Council and Steve Biko Housing Association Limited, increasing the grant monies by £170,800 (from £170,800 to £341,600) for the purpose of providing two additional properties to accommodate homeless households under the Local Authority Housing Fund programme.

Alternative options considered

Not allocating the additional LAHF grant to the Recipient would risk missing the opportunity to provide two additional homes to eligible cohorts. This may jeopardise the Council meeting targets set by MHCLG in relation to the grant and would increase the risk to the Council of grant clawback.
