Council

The Council is made up of all elected members for the Maldon District and is responsible for adopting key statutory documents. These include the Maldon District Local Development Framework, the Maldon Sustainable Communities Strategy, the Best Value Performance Plan, and the Maldon Community Safety Strategy. The Council also sets the budget and Council Tax, appoints the Leader and Deputy Leader, determines committee memberships, and adopts the council's constitution, delegation arrangements, standing orders, and financial regulations. It also appoints representatives to outside bodies.
