Investigating and Disciplinary Committee

The Investigating and Disciplinary Committee considers allegations of misconduct, capability issues, or breakdown of trust against senior council officers, including the Head of Paid Service and Section 151 Officer. It has the power to suspend officers for investigation and to authorise formal investigations in line with the council's statutory duties.

The committee decides if matters can be resolved informally, if there is no case to answer, or if disciplinary action is required. It reports its findings and any disciplinary actions to the full council and hears appeals related to Human Resources policies.
