Purpose

1.    On 5 February 2024 Cabinet gave approval for the following  

1. delegate authority to the Director of Resources and Organisational Development to extend the Council’s current insurance arrangements for a period of twelve months up to and including 31 March 2025;

1. delegate authority to the Director of Resources and Organisational Development to carry out a procurement exercise for the organisation’s insurance arrangements; and

1. delegate authority to the Director of Resources and Organisational Development to award the new insurance contract to the preferred bidder(s) following the evaluation of tenders to take effect from and including 1 April 2025 for a term of up to five years, to ensure continuity of cover.

2.    Per Cabinet approval, a robust procurement process to award new insurance contracts to the preferred bidder following the evaulation of tenders to take effect from 1 April 2025 for a term of up to five years has been completed. 

3.    Contracts are being agreed and settled per Cabinet approval referenced above. 

4.    None of the contracts specifically designate the contract amounts as commercially sensitive. Moreover, there is a provision in the contracts which state: “Subject to the rights in relation to Confidential Information and Commercially Sensitive Information within the Agreement and this Contract, the Customer shall be entitled to publicise this Contract in accordance with any legal obligation placed upon the Customer including any examination of this Contract by the Auditors.” The contract amounts will be added to the Contracts Register forming part of the Council’s Open Data

Decision

To award the final two insurance contracts (of five) as follows. 

1. Personal accident and travel insurance to Risk Management Partners Ltd 

1. Engineering inspection and insurance to British Engineering Services Limited
