recommendations which were agreed unanimously with 5 in favour.
 
RESOLVED
 
Cabinet:
 
(i)         
noted that the Council debate on this matter earlier this evening,
established the preferred option for local government
reorganisation (LGR) in West Sussex. This is now Council
policy.
(ii)        
delegated to the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader
of the Council, authority to finalise the submission to Government
by the deadline of Friday 26 September 2025. It will comprise the
business case itself and a supporting statement reflecting the
Council’s preferred option.
(iii)       
Noted that in constructing the submission (ii above) the Chief
Executive will pay close attention to the government’s
criteria for assessing proposals and the issues raised in debate by
members.
