The Chief Officer Committee is responsible for key personnel decisions and disciplinary matters concerning senior council officers. It handles the appointment of the Head of Paid Service and other Chief Officers, making recommendations to Full Council or appointing directly depending on the role. The committee also manages disciplinary procedures, including suspension and actions short of dismissal for Chief Officers, and hears grievances and appeals related to grading, disciplinary actions, and dismissal for senior roles like the Head of Paid Service, Monitoring Officer, and Chief Finance Officer.
