About

The Teesside Archives Joint Committee is responsible for overseeing and making decisions about the collection, preservation, and promotion of archives and records for Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, and Stockton councils. It manages and develops the Archives Service, including preparing and reviewing its work, monitoring its operations, and determining its budget and staffing. The committee also comments on regional and national matters affecting the Archives Service. Its role is executive, with each council appointing one executive member. The committee meets annually to approve the budget and at other times as requested.
