A proposal to extend a section of no waiting at any time restrictions, from 5 metres to 10 metres on Windemere Road was advertised (the proposal only relates to waiting restrictions. No restrictions on loading or unloading are contained within the order). A formal objection to thisproposed item was submitted and has not been withdrawn. Therefore, a delegated decision is required on whether to proceed with the proposal or in response to strength of feeling of residents, remove this item from the proposed amendment order. Reasons for the decision

The proposal was in response to complaints received about parked vehicles restricting access to Windemere Road. Extending the double yellow line no waiting restrictions to 10 metres north of the junction with Rockliffe Road reflects the highway code, which states vehicles should not be parked within 10 metres of a junction. The aim of the restrictions is to improve access and safety at the junction between Rockliffe Road and Windemere Road. However, due to a formal objection and petition being submitted and the strength of feeling of residents, this item could be removed from the amendment order and the situation at this junction monitored over the coming months. Alternative options considered

Option 1- Not proceeding with the proposal to extend the restrictions. Due to strength of feeling of residents about the reduced kerbside space, if the restrictions were extended. We could remove this item from the current amendment order and allow additional time to monitor the situation.
