Purpose

To update the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment
for Milton Keynes.

Legal requirements: It is a statutory requirement of the Milton
Keynes Health and Care Partnership to produce and publish a
Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) every three years, or sooner
if required. The revised PNA covering the period 2025-2028 is
required to be published and publicly available by the 1 October
2025.

To demonstrate that due process has been followed in the production
of the PNA and that the final document has been legally
reviewed.

Content

That, following consultation with members of
the Health and Care Partnership, the publication of the
Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment for Milton Keynes City Council
2025-2028 be approved for publication.

Alternative options considered

The only practical alternatives would be to
not publish a PNA, or to reject the conclusions of the PNA. Neither
are recommended as the PNA was prepared following legislative
requirements, statutory guidance and further to required
consultation. If not published by 1 October 2025, MKCC would be in
breach of its statutory responsibilities.
