Purpose

To consider approving changes to the
Council’s Discretionary Policy to include a 100% award of
support for Council Tax to households impacted by terminal
illness.

Content

1.         That the
Council’s amended Discretionary Financial Assistance Policy,
attached as an Annex, incorporating support for households impacted
by a terminal illness diagnosis, be approved.

2.         That the
scheme and costs be monitored over the next twelve months and
reviewed in readiness for the start of the 2027/28 financial
year.
