Purpose

To consider approving a capital investment of up to £1.9m for the refurbishment of two buildings and the relocation of two teams which will resolve long-standing operational and facility issues.

Decision

RESOLVED:

  1. That resource allocation and spend approval of up to £1.9m in the 2026/2027 Capital Programme to fund the capital works at Civic and Warwick Road Activity Centre, be approved.
  2. That authority be delegated to the Director of Environment and Property, in consultation with the Director of Children’s Services to commence the procurement process for a contractor to carry out the refurbishment works via the Pagabo Refit and Refurbishment National Framework and for the tender to be evaluated on Price (40%) and Quality (60%).
  3. That, subject to the successful tender coming within the allocated budget, authority be delegated to the Director of Environment and Property, in consultation with the Director of Finance and Resource, and the Director of Children’s Services to award the contracts for work.
