Purpose

To consider approving the Scrap Metal Dealers and Collectors Policy 2026/2029 to ensure it remains aligned with current legislation and statutory guidance.

Decision

1. That the Scrap Metal Dealers and Collectors Policy 2026–2029, attached at Annex A, and as endorsed by the Regulatory Committee on 11 February 2026, be adopted.
2. That authority be delegated to the Director of Customer and Community Services, in consultation with the Cabinet member for Regulatory Services, to:

(a)     make minor, typographical and consequential amendments to the Scrap Metal Dealers and Collectors Policy 2026/2029; and

(b)     arrange for the formal publication and implementation of the adopted policy.
