Purpose

To consider approving the commencement of a procurement exercise for a Parking Contract, ready for the current contract ending in August 2027, which will include parking enforcement as well as the provision of equipment.

Decision

1. That a Competitive Flexible Procedure under the Procurement Act 2023 for a contract for the provision of Parking Services for six years with two options to extend by up to four years on a 2+2 basis (total ten years maximum), be approved.
2. That authority be delegated to the Director of Environment and Property, in consultation with the Cabinet member for Environment, Waste, Highways and Transport and the Assistant Director of Finance, to finalise tender documents and award the contract to the preferred service provider.
3. That £100k be allocated from the section 55 traffic regulation and parking account for the cost of external specialist input to the procurement.
