Purpose

To consider approving the commencement of a
procurement exercise to create a Carers Support Service.

Content

1.        
That the
commencement of a tender process to procure a countywide Carers
Support Services as detailed in this report, be
approved.  

2.        
That resource
allocation and spend approval of £0.459m (per annum),
comprising a total budget of £2.295m over the entirety of the
term of the contract, be agreed.

3.        
That authority be delegated to the
Director of Adult
Social Care in consultation with the Director of Children Services
to approve:

(a)        the Tender
process for the new carers provision to commence in September
2024;

(b)       the continuation of the existing
services via Exemptions, to ensure provision is aligned with the
proposed new contract date. This applies to two contracts for a
period of five months. From the period 1November 2024 to 30 April
2025; and

(c)        the continuation of a Grant
Agreement relating to carers breaks for the period outlined above
for a maximum of £0.042m.
