Purpose

To consider approving the Department of
Levelling Up, Housing and Community (DLUHC) Single Homeless
Accommodation Programme grant funding to MKYMCA to support young
adults 18-35 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Note: DLUHC grant funding is linked to capital funding from Homes
England to purchase shared homes.

Content

1.         That a
grant of £553,198 be awarded to Milton
Keynes YMCA (MKYMCA) over four years to enable the transfer
of Single
Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP) revenue funding to MKYMCA
to support 51 new units of accommodation for young
people.

2.         That
a Memorandum of Understanding be entered into which sets out
the terms, principles and practices that will apply to the working
relationship between the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local
Government and the Council regarding the
administration and delivery of SHAP.

3.         That
authority be delegated to the Director of Adult Services to
finalise the arrangements for, and detailed provisions in the
Memorandum of Understanding.
