Decision

Members discussed the effectiveness of the Council's whistleblowing arrangements in promoting openness, accountability and public confidence, and the information contained within Private Appendix B of the circulated report, relating to anonymised examples of whistleblowing matters handled over the previous two years. Members provided comments, observations and recommendations regarding the continued operation and development of the policy.

RESOLVED:  That the contents of the Council's Whistleblowing Policy and the legal framework supporting its operation, be noted, and the comments, observations and recommendations made in the meeting be taken on board when further developing the policy.
