About

The Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee coordinates and manages the council's policy development and review processes. It sets up ad hoc groups for pre-decision scrutiny, approves their reports, and considers the implementation of projects and legislation impacting the entire council, such as the City Deal and the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.

This committee also scrutinises corporate plans and strategies, considers draft budget proposals, and coordinates scrutiny responses. It manages training for scrutiny members, approves and monitors the Scrutiny Annual Report, and oversees the implementation of scrutiny recommendations. The committee coordinates the programme for other Performance Scrutiny Committees.
