To make a new Tree Preservation Order on The
Tree Situate Southwest of 51 Scarsdale Road, Dronfield, Derbyshire
as shown on the enclosed plan.

Reasons for the decision

A TEMPO assessment was undertaken by the
Arboricultural Officer on 04/02/2025 the results identify that the
Common Walnut tree on the site, by reason of its size, shape and
location is considered to make a significant contribution to the
character and visual amenity of the area.

There is currently no protection afforded the tree and there is a
perceived threat to the tree as an ownership dispute over the land
is ongoing. It is therefore deemed appropriate to create TPO 303 as
an Order specified by individual tree.

Alternative options considered

There is one other option and that is to not
make the order but that requires the council ignore the possible
risk of losing an important tree and this is not considered a
suitable alternative.
