Officer Post and to recruit to the post within the Joint ICT
team.
Reasons for the decision
To establish a 24-month fixed term Technology
Officer post and to recruit to the post.
State how the decision complies with the Council Plan.
The Joint ICT service is unable to fulfil the current demands on
the service without additional technical resources.
The cost of this temporary post will cost approximately
£108,000 for the two years and will be funded by reserves in
the Joint ICT Budget. This is proportionally funded by the three
authorities, Bolsover, Derbyshire Dales and North East Derbyshire
District Councils.
Alternative options considered
Do nothing - will put the Service at risk of
not being able to deliver the Joint ICT SLA and putting the Council
at an increased risk of a cyber-attack.
Appoint a permanent post – This will take longer to approve
and cause delays to the recruitment.
