To increase fees and charges as set out at
Appendix 1 (exclusive of VAT) to reflect inflationary, running cost
increases and wider market forces.

Reasons for the decision

It is good practice to review regularly, and
in many cases annually, fees and charges for services provided for
a payment. The periodic review of fees and service charges ensures
inflation is taken into consideration, along with operational
demands and policies to meet the cost of service delivery. It also
ensures that these issues are balanced against the needs of the
public in terms of keeping fees and charges as low as
possible.

Alternative options considered

A “do nothing” approach, is not
sustainable in the delivery of chargeable services. Particularly,
where the services are wholly dependent upon income generation.
Should fees and charges not be reviewed this would result in rises
in the cost of services and these costs not being met by
income.
