RESOLVED:

That Cabinet approves the Discretionary Disabled Facilities Grant Policy 2026–2028, noting that discretionary assistance will be subject to available budget and that mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant duties will remain the Council’s priority.

That delegated authority is given to the Assistant Director People Services, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for People Services, to make minor in-year operational or administrative amendments to the policy, provided they do not materially change its intent, eligibility criteria, financial limits or budgetary framework.

Reason for the decision:

To provide a transparent and consistent policy framework for the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grants and discretionary grant scheme, enabling the Council to support residents with disabilities, older people and vulnerable households to remain safe, independent and well at home.
