Agreed submission of the proposed response to the Department for Transport (DfT) in relation to proposed changes to Section 48 of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) regarding the installation of electric vehicle infrastructure on the network, as detailed in Appendix A of the report.

Reasons for the decision

Although there are elements of this proposal, which are pragmatic, there are still some aspects that require further clarification and consider it appropriate to respond accordingly.

Alternative options considered

The alternative option proposed by DfT to do nothing would result in no changes taking place, however given the potential impact that an influx of EV Chare Point Operators (CPOs) would have using section 50 would be a detriment to the team and would cause delay to the EV ChargePoint operators in undertaking their works.
