The Supplementary Sustainable Drainage Systems
(SuDs) Guidance, Infiltration Testing has been agreed.

Reasons for the decision

The introduction of the guidance will enable
NYC in its capacity as LLFA to provide more explicit guidance to
developers in the standards required for infiltration testing as
part of the planning application process of managing surface water
discharge. In doing so, the consultation process will be
streamlined, ensuring all appropriate and industry standard
information is submitted, improving the developer experience and to
remove inefficiency within the statutory planning period.

Alternative options considered

The only other option would be to do nothing,
however, this would not benefit the delivery of appropriate SuDS in
North Yorkshire.
