Purpose

To seek approval to begin a consultation on an
increase in pupil numbers at Springwater School, High Street,
Starbeck, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG2 7LW, Harrogate from the
1st September 2025.

Decision

The Executive Member for Education and Skills
has approved the proposal to consult to increase numbers at
Springwater School, High Street, Starbeck, Harrogate from 1
September 2025.

Reasons for the decision

The increase in pupil numbers and capital
investment at Springwater School will significantly benefit
children and their families. By providing additional local places,
the school will reduce pupil journey times to and from school,
offering much greater convenience for children with SEND.
Additionally, these improvements will achieve longer-term savings
by reducing the current demand and high cost of placing children
out of North Yorkshire settings
