To discontinue the procurement procedure for
provision of a Recruitment Administration system.

Reasons for the decision

The Council has reviewed the specification and
has identified that the specification is unlikely to meet the
Council’s changing needs.

For the purposes of this decision note ‘discontinuing’
the procurement is legally entitled ‘abandonment of a
procurement’ and is considered to be one and the same.

Alternative options considered

Continue with the procurement procedure but
risk that the contract does not meet the needs of the Council. For
this reason continuing with the procurement was not considered
viable as it is essential that the contract meets the
Council’s requirements.
