Decision

Application to the York and North Yorkshire
Combined Authority Community Fund has been approved for providing a
£20,000 grant to go towards the funding of new steel safety
doors on the public conveniences of Harrogate.

Reasons for the decision

Applying for the grant of £20,000 to be
awarded to the NYC towards these safety steel doors is considered
an opportunity for the NYC to work with the Combined Authority and
North Yorkshire Police to help meet shared goals. For example,
reducing anti-social behaviour and enhancing the safety or
vulnerable members of society.

Alternative options considered

Not applying for this grant would put existing
budgets under stress and would mean that cuts would have to be made
elsewhere to cover the cost.
