Purpose

To provide funding to Lealholm Community Land
Trust to deliver Community Led Housing.

Decision

To award, subject to compliance with the
Subsidy Control Act 2022, a grant of up to
£840,000 to Lealholm Community Land Trust for the development
of the Lealholm
community-led housing scheme and to enter into the associated grant
agreement.

Reasons for the decision

This is a community led housing scheme that
officer have worked with the CLT for several years. The funding
initially identified for this scheme was part of SBC’s
Community Housing Fund. This decision reconfirms the
Council’s commitment to support this project and provides the
assurance required to the CLT to move forward with the
development.

Alternative options considered

There are no alternative options regarding
funding allocations for this project. The Community Housing Fund is
specifically for use on Community Led Housing Projects.
