Purpose

To approve an application for Brownfield
Housing Grant to the Mayoral Combined Authority. The MCA has
recently opened up the application process for Round 3 of the
Brownfield Housing Grant, which invites applications from Local
authorities and other partners.
The council has identified a number of schemes, which would benefit
from this grant funding and wishes to make an application for the
funding. The total amount of funding the Council wishes to apply
for is £1,200,000.
The deadline for applying for the grant is 29 August 2025.

Decision

Approval has been granted to submit
applications for Brownfield Housing Funding to the York and North
Yorkshire Combined Authority for up to £1,200,000.

Reasons for the decision

To enable the Council to access Brownfield
Housing funding, which will support the development of up to 48 new
affordable homes across 4 schemes within the Scarborough and Selby
localities.
