Acceptance of £300,000 from Homes
England for social rented homes in Scarborough.

Reasons for the decision

Claiming Homes England grant will allow the
council to deliver additional social rented housing within the HRA
in a locality where there is high housing needs and a current
undersupply of social rented housing.

Alternative options considered

Rejecting the grant offer would see the
council miss out on the opportunity to deliver an additional 4
social rented units in a high demand area. This option was
rejected.
