Decision

To extend the contract for the replacement of
UPVC windows and doors for a further six months from 2 October 2025
and to vary the contract to include all localities within North
Yorkshire.

Reasons for the decision

The contract, relating to the replacement of
UPVC windows and doors, was due to expire on 1 October 2025. It
included an option to extend up to one further year. The Council is
in process of procuring a new contract, but this procurement
process will not have concluded in time for 1 October 2025. In
order to ensure continued provision of these works until the new
contract is awarded and in place, a decision has been made to vary
the existing contract to cover all North Yorkshire localities and
to extend the contract for a further six-month period.

Alternative options considered

It was considered to let the contract expire
on 1 October 2025 and await the commencement of the newly procured
contract. This was rejected due to the demand for the services
currently provided.
