incur expenditure in relation to the Scarborough 400 Public Art
Commission, funded by REPF £100,000, as agreed at Executive
17.06.25 link: Agenda for Executive on Tuesday, 17 June 2025, 11.00

Reasons for the decision

External funding has been awarded as part of
the REPF allocation, for the specific purpose of commemorating
Scarborough Spa’s 400th Anniversary.

Alternative options considered

Alternative considered was not to utilise the
accepted funds, however this would deny Scarborough a significant
commission marking an important Quarto centenary milestone, which
would also add to the exterior space at Scarborough Spa.
