That the Executive Member for Corporate
Services in consultation with the Executive Member for Managing our
Environment authorise the commencement of statutory consultation
for the proposed North Yorkshire Council Unauthorised Camping and
Lighting of Fires and Barbeques PSPO 2026.

Reasons for the decision

The proposed Public Spaces Protection Order
(PSPO) is in respect of unauthorised camping and lighting of fires
and barbeques at specified locations in Whitby and Scarborough. The
Council is seeking to introduce a PSPO under Section 59,
Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.
