Reasons for the decision

Accepting Homes England grant will allow the
council to deliver additional social rented and Shared Ownership
housing within the HRA in a locality where there is high housing
needs and a current undersupply of social rented housing

Alternative options considered

Rejecting the grant offer would see the
council miss out on the opportunity to deliver an additional 10
affordable homes in a high demand area. This option was
rejected
