application to the YNYCA’s Local Authority High Streets Fund
for £55,000 to support delivery of the Whitby Old Town Hall
project

Reasons for the decision

To enable North Yorkshire Council to seek
external capital funding to support a priority regeneration project
identified through the Town Investment Plan programme.

Alternative options considered

The option of not applying for external
funding was discounted, as no alternative funding has been
identified for the fit out of Whitby Old Town Hall and the
opportunity would be missed. This application is timely with the
completion of the refurbishment project.
