Decision

To approve a Discretionary Top-Up Grant of
£24,781.20 to support a ground-floor extension providing a
bedroom and ensuite bathroom for a partially wheelchair dependent
parent. The adaptation will also enable an autistic child, who
currently disrupts his sibling at night, to have a separate
bedroom. With both mandatory and discretionary funding, the total
cost of the adaptations will exceed £50,000.

Reasons for the decision

Further to a Consultation carried out prior to
reorganisation with the Disabled Adaptations Advisory Group it was
agreed that these works were required to enable the independence
and safety of the parent.

Alternative options considered

Due to the constraints of Planning in the
National Parks this is the most effective option.
