A contract for this service is required to ensure value for money in the delivery of the statutory requirement for a mediation service.

Alternative options considered

As this service is exempt from Procurement Regulations, the Authority had the freedom to design their own process.

It was decided to follow a competitive process in order to promote value for money. This led to 4 qualified and reputable suppliers applying, who were then evaluated by a panel, on both quality and price.
