Purpose

Present the proposal submitted by Northallerton BID Ltd for a new term of the Northallerton Business Improvement District, confirm whether the proposal meets the requirements of the Business Improvement Districts (England) Regulations 2004, and whether to instruct the ballot holder to implement a renewal ballot.

Decision

The Corporate Director for Community Development has approved -
i. That the proposal by Northallerton BID Ltd meets the requirements of the Business Improvement Districts (England) Regulations 2004 in relation to a renewal ballot.
ii. To instruct the Ballot Holder to hold a renewal ballot in relation to the Northallerton Business Improvement District for a new 5-year term from 1 April 2027.

Reasons for the decision

To confirm that the renewal proposal by the Northallerton BID Ltd meets the requirements of the Business Improvement Districts (England) 2004 Regulations and that the renewal proposal should be subjected to a renewal ballot.

Alternative options considered

As the Proposal meets the requirements of the Business Improvement Districts England (2004) Regulations the Council was required to instruct a ballot on the renewal of the Northallerton Business Improvement District.
