Full council record

Decision

The Corporate Director, Community Development, has agreed agree to submit the response as set out in the report to the Government’s Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee Inquiry into Revitalising High Streets.

Reasons for the decision

To engage with central government call for evidence and to make representation for support for communities in North Yorkshire.

The response is an online submission and is not submitted in the exact format appended to this decision notice.

Alternative options considered

No response – it is considered an important part of the Council’s role to respond to Government calls for evidence of this nature. Although there is some resource implication in terms of officer capacity to collate the response, North Yorkshire Council, as the third largest council in the UK and the largest rural council has an important voice in making the case for rural and coastal communities in North Yorkshire and across England.
