To allow a Discretionary Top Up Grant of £17,623.00 to enable the conversion of a garage to a bedroom and bathroom. Total value of the adaptations will be less than £50K with the mandatory and discretionary funding in place.

Reasons for the decision

Further to a Consultation carried out with the Disabled Adaptations Advisory Group on 13/02/2025, it was agreed that the works were required to enable the provision of an accessible bedroom and bathroom for the disabled occupant who can no longer access upstairs.

Alternative options considered

Due to the constraints of the property and the needs of the applicant this is the most effective option as they can no longer use a stairlift and a through floor lift is not feasible for the client.
