DfT Highways Transparency Report

Decision

To approve the NYC Highways Maintenance Transparency report ahead of submission to DfT on 10 September 2026.

Reasons for the decision

To comply with the DfT requirements for transparency reporting.
Failure to submit and publish the transparency report and provide relevant information evidencing updates to our highway asset management strategy and policy, alongside showing we spend all of the highway maintenance funding on highway maintenance would prevent NYC from accessing up to £13.61M of funding in 2026/27.

Alternative options considered

As set out in the reasons for decision, not submitting and publishing the transparency report was discounted.
