Decision

That existing land, currently not recognised as highway, which borders the east side of High Street at Newmarket Street will become Highway Maintainable at Public Expense. See attached plan.

Reasons for the decision

The landowner wishes to dedicate the land as highways to facilitate improvements to the footway network and accessibility within Skipton. It is considered appropriate in this instance that this cobbled area also should be considered as highway maintainable at public expense.

Alternative options considered

The land continues to be the responsibility of the landowner. This would prevent any future highway improvements from being completed on this land
