Purpose
To report that, following a
series of initiatives taken by the Council since 2022, there is
increasing evidence that the unprecedented capacity issues in
commissioned home care services which began in the second half of
2021 may be coming to an end.
Content
RESOLVED
that:-
(a ) the information in this report
about the improved availability of home care be noted;
and
(b ) Cabinet note that there continue
to be both long-term risks associated with demographic change and
medium-term risks associated with the level of current reliance on
a sponsored overseas workforce, and that the health of the sector
will continue to be closely monitored.
