The Cabinet approved the aims of the new Climate Change Action Plan 2024-2026 on 11 June 2024. The plan includes integrating climate change considerations into impact assessments, requiring carbon literacy training for directors and senior staff by the end of 2025, and continuing the 'free tree' initiative. The Council will also allocate £50,000 annually to the Climate Change and Environment Fund, invest in renewable energy for its estate, and produce its first Climate Change Adaptation Strategy by the end of the 2024-25 financial year.
