Purpose
To seek approval to the adoption of a Public
Health Funeral Policy allowing the Council to meet its statutory
responsibilities in dealing with funerals of individuals who die or
are found dead in the County and do not have anyone willing or able
to organise the funeral.
Content
RESOLVED
that:-
(i) Cabinet approve the
Public Health Funeral Policy attached to this report at Appendix 1;
and
(ii) Cabinet authorise
the Executive Director of Public Health, Inequalities and Stronger
Communities, in consultation with the Portfolio Holders for Looking
After our Environment and Looking After our Communities, to make
any changes to the Policy as a result of revocations, or enactment
of relevant statutory provisions, changes in staffing structure or
other non-material factors.
