The Audit Committee provides an independent focus on Nottingham City Council's governance, risk, and control arrangements, overseeing financial reporting and annual governance processes. It scrutinises internal and external audits, ensuring adequate arrangements for public accountability. The committee considers the council's financial and non-financial performance in relation to risk exposure and control environment, including governance of financial strategy, asset realisation, capital programmes, value for money, and linked organisations. It also reviews and advises on proposed changes to the council's governance policies and procedures.
