About
The Standards and Governance Committee promotes high standards of conduct for councillors and co-opted members, and ensures good governance across Nottingham City Council. It advises on the Code of Conduct and investigates complaints of breaches by councillors or co-opted members, with the power to impose sanctions. The committee also receives advice from an Independent Person during investigations to ensure an impartial perspective. Its work directly affects councillors, co-opted members, and the public through its oversight of ethical standards and council operations.
